THE MONTESSORI CLASSROOM

·        Consist of a multi-aged, multi-level, diverse grouping of students with a combination of individual, small group, and large group learning models.

·        Extended to include a partnership with the family. The family is considered an integral part of the child's total development.

·        Integrates a diverse set of materials, activities, and experiences.

TEACHER

·        Educated in Montessori philosophy and methodology appropriate to the age level he or she is teaching.

·        Possess the ability and dedication to put the key concepts into practice.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Each day begins with prayer, a scripture verse, and Morning Circle. The daily schedule includes a large block of uninterrupted time (work cycles) for independent work, small group lessons, and individual lessons. The Daily Schedule also includes Music, Storytime, Snack, and Outdoor play.

WAMS CURRICULUM

Wooded Acres Montessori School curriculum adheres to the recommendations, standards, and training provided by the American Montessori Society.
